Because women tend to be the primary caregivers in families, we understand you must first take care of yourself before you can take care of others. At Kona Family Health Center, our team of gynecologists and women’s health care specialists are committed to providing you with the tools you need to keep you and your family healthy through every stage of life – beginning with annual physicals and screenings.
Women age 40 and younger tend to shortchange themselves by neglecting to look at their ob gyn or primary care doctor as an integral part of their lives. Women’s medical care should begin with an annual physical exam. Our primary care women’s health physicians will become familiar with your medical history and overall health in order to identify small problems before they bloom into big issues.
When you come in for a regular, annual physical, you can expect a gynecological exam that consists examining several body systems including your heart, lungs, abdomen, thyroid, breasts and pelvis. We will also measure your weight and blood pressure. While routine tests typically include a urine analysis and hemoglobin/blood count, other testing may be recommended depending on the circumstances. Examples of other tests for women’s health issues are cholesterol, thyroid function and chemistries.System.StringSystem.StringSystem.StringSystem.String
