Dr. McDevitt has lived in Hawaii since 1965, attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa, received his medical degree from the University of Colorado medical center, & as a General Practitioner, he has practiced family medicine, office minor surgery, & sports medicine in Kona for the past 42 years.
He participated in almost every organized sport when growing up, and has remained active in athletics as an avid cyclist ever since. He has commuted to work by bike on Kona's roads for the past 36 years, was an avid competitive road cyclist for the first 15 years, but eventually settled on mountain biking in Kona's beautiful forests as his favorite recreation. He is the president of PATH, Peoples Advocacy for Trails Hawaii, and is the leading force behind this organization's efforts to build multi-use trails in Kona's forests for recreation.
He is presently working part time and has presently restricted his practice to his two favorite areas: sports medicine and office surgery. He plans to continue this forever.
